Beckoned by a mysterious figure wearing a mask and a large dark cloak, Poach enters a tent, only to find herself magically whisked away to the land of Napple World. After her arrival, Poach meets and soon befriends the quaint Stray Nap. He tells Poach that to return to her own world, she must recover her Petals, the fairies who have been separated from her upon her unexpected entry into this dream state between the real world and the afterlife. Fortunately, Poach will find help from not only Stray Nap but her guide's friendly fellow townsfolk. Levers can be flipped by hitting them with the racquet or by knocking bullets into them. Button Moves floating platforms or creates green platforms when Poach steps on it. Green platforms vanish when their buttons reset after a period of time. Square Floor Switch Activates something that is necessary to reach the end of a Stage when Poach steps on it. Seasonal Switch Leads to a bonus area that contains additional Coins. Seasonal switches can be opened only by using the Petal-related Paffet that corresponds to the season of the Stage where they are located. Trampoline Boosts Poach's jumps. To attain maximum height, Poach should jump when she lands on a trampoline, as it springs down. Breakable Platform Collapses shortly after Poach steps on it. Breakable platforms reappear when their locations are off the screen. Propeller Carries Poach vertically upward. There is also a winged version that carries her vertically downward. Propellers return to their original positions when Poach lets go of them. Pulley Carries Poach downward along a cable. Unlike propellers, pulleys do not reset their positions when Poach lets go of them. Fire Ring Rewards Poach with 8 Coins if she jumps through its middle. Touching the fire is not healthy. Green Head Alternates between offering Life Petals and having harmful fires. Each head will give up to three Life Petals before switching back to the fire until Poach leaves and returns to the Stage. Square Panel Marks locations where a certain Paffet can be used by Poach to reach an otherwise inaccessible area. Square panels look like brownish panels on the ground. Chest Contains a Napple Seed, a Recipe, MIS, or a Card. Locked chests (colored gray) can be unlocked by knocking a bullet into them or by having an explosion touch them. All chests must be opened from the front. Save Point Allows Poach to record her progress. Save points include the bed in Poach's Room and the vase-like objects in the Stages. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [1.6] Paffets ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [1.6.1] Animal-Type Paffets ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The animal-type Paffets follow Poach into the Stages and can directly help her with their special abilities. Their usage counters are reset to their maximums when Poach returns to her room or when they leave her and go back to their places at the Paffet Rooms. Paffets whose usage counters reach 0 will automatically return to the Paffet Rooms. "Door" refers to the Paffet Room where the Paffet is kept when not in the party, as indicated by the color of its door. Yellow is for Paffets with mostly movement-enhancing abilities. Purple is for Paffets with attacking or healing abilities. Red is for Paffets with mostly Score-related abilities. Blue is for the Petal-related Paffets who let Poach use Seasonal Switches. 01: Supurira MIS: Spring, Spring, Spring, Spring Uses: 1 Door: blue Notes: Lets Poach use Spring Switches. This Paffet is acquired when the Spring Petal is recovered. 02: Samansa MIS: Summer, Summer, Summer, Summer Uses: 1 Door: blue Notes: Lets Poach use Summer Switches. This Paffet is acquired when the Summer Petal is recovered. 03: Aatamun MIS: Autumn, Autumn, Autumn, Autumn Uses: 1 Door: blue Notes: Lets Poach use Autumn Switches. This Paffet is acquired when the Autumn Petal is recovered. 04: Wintasu MIS: Winter, Winter, Winter, Winter Uses: 1 Door: blue Notes: Lets Poach use Winter Switches. This Paffet is acquired when the Winter Petal is recovered. 05: Adokuron MIS: Time-Forward, Time-Forward, Time-Forward, Time-Forward Uses: 8 Door: blue Notes: Lets Poach use the Time-Forward Switch (for entering the Special Stages). This Paffet is acquired when the Time-Forward Petal is recovered. 06: Ritakuron MIS: Time-Backward, Time-Backward, Time-Backward, Time-Backward Uses: 8 Door: blue Notes: Lets Poach use the Time-Backward Switch (for entering the Pamera Room). This Paffet is acquired when the Time-Backward Petal is recovered. 07: Hihiru MIS: Rest, Vitality, Transformation, Clearness Uses: 4 Door: purple Notes: Restores Poach's health by 1 Life Petal. 08: Papata MIS: Wind, Atmosphere, Strength, Strictness Uses: 4 Door: purple Notes: Fires energy blades at any enemies on the screen. Although these blades are aimed, their delay may cause them to miss if their targets are moving. 09: Tsutsun MIS: Growth, Amusement, Atmosphere, Strictness Uses: 4 Door: purple Notes: Spins up and down in a wave-like pattern, killing any enemies in the way. Press the Movement Stick or Movement Pad to manually control the direction of Tsutsun's movement. 10: Waidoraako MIS: Wind, Flourish, Water, Strength Uses: 4 Door: purple Notes: Fires a laser beam while spinning in a counterclockwise direction. 11: Puoo MIS: Vitality, Swiftness, Fire, Strictness Uses: 4 Door: purple Notes: Casts a storm of fire, killing any enemies who touch the flames. There is a chance that the flames will miss a few enemies, though. 12: Daikoh MIS: Wind, Strength, Coldness, Silence Uses: 3 Door: purple Notes: Casts a storm of ice, freezing and then killing any enemies on the screen. Touching frozen enemies before they die is not healthy. 13: Furoro MIS: Light, Ball Form, Clearness, Death Uses: 3 Door: purple Notes: Casts a storm of lightning, killing any enemies on the screen. Unlike Puoo and Daikoh, Furoro has attacks whose effects are instantaneous. 14: Shiruru MIS: Cleverness, Atmosphere, Defense, Strength Uses: 3 Door: yellow Notes: Creates a shield around Poach, rendering her invulnerable to enemies and crushing traps, but not spikes. The shield also allows Poach to kill enemies by touching them. 15: Senka MIS: Vitality, Transformation, Ball Form, Purification Uses: 1 Door: purple Notes: Restores Poach's health completely. Unlike Hihiru, Senka can be used only once before having to leave. 16: Rounii MIS: Wind, Cleverness, Defense, Time Flow Uses: 4 Door: yellow Notes: Slows down enemies. Touching slowed-down enemies is not healthy. 17: Pipika MIS: Light, Image, Sentiment, Clearness Uses: 5 Door: yellow Notes: Illuminates dark areas. Pipika's ability isn't really needed to get through such areas. 18: Fuumin MIS: Balance, Transformation, Strictness, Foundation Uses: 6 Door: yellow Notes: Morphs into a tall platform. Fuumin can be placed so he sticks out from a ledge, helping to maximize Poach's jumps. He will revert to his normal form if he lands on spikes. 19: Baumpa MIS: Atmosphere, Transformation, Swiftness, Foundation Uses: 6 Door: yellow Notes: Morphs into a trampoline. Baumpa lets Poach jump a little higher than with Fuumin, but she can't stand still on him, so he can't help her open chests whose fronts lie over gaps. 20: Purijiin MIS: Growth, Road, Water, Transformation Uses: 6 Door: yellow Notes: Morphs into a bridge-like platform. Purijiin behaves much like Fuumin, but he is suited for crossing long gaps, not for reaching high ledges. 21: Kikkyu MIS: Atmosphere, Flourish, Transformation, Ball Form Uses: 4 Door: yellow Notes: Morphs into a balloon. When Poach hangs onto her, Kikkyu will float up a little bit and then descend very slowly. She can help Poach cross extremely long gaps as long as they begin from a point that is high enough. 22: Raipo MIS: Strength, Fire, Strictness, Death Uses: 4 Door: yellow Notes: Drops a bomb, which is useful for opening locked chests and for reaching chests placed behind barriers that can be destroyed by explosions. 23: Midorishigaru MIS: Rest, Balance, Road, Door Uses: 2 Door: red Notes: Morphs into an exit gate. 24: Gambatto MIS: Light, Atmosphere, Strength, Strictness Uses: 5 Door: red Notes: Multiplies the Points earned by a factor of 2. 25: Kakan MIS: Amusement, Thought, Vitality, Clearness Uses: 5 Door: red Notes: Doubles the time before a combo ends, from 2 seconds to 4 seconds. 26: Mehro MIS: Rest, Sentiment, Rainbow, Knowledge Uses: 5 Door: red Notes: Pauses the Timer. 27: Eru MIS: Vitality, Ripeness, Sharpness, Clearness Uses: 7 Door: red Notes: Adds 500 Points and drops a randomly determined item, which can be a Life Petal, a Paffet Flower, or a bomb. 28: Gatchi MIS: Wind, Strength, Silence, View Uses: 8 Door: red Notes: Prevents the loss of 500 Points whenever Poach gets hurt. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [1.6.2] Furniture-Type Paffets ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The furniture-type Paffets are animated versions of normally inanimate objects, and they are generally used to decorate areas and to make people happy. 29: Pikari (street lamps) MIS: Light, Road, Tranquility, Time Flow Notes: For Frocker, around the fountain. 30: Shiruberiino (street signs) MIS: Plane, Road, Knowledge, Transmission Notes: For Frocker, near the gates at the ends of the streets. 31: Gachatto (capsule maker) MIS: Amusement, Atmosphere, Transformation, Machinery Notes: For Poach, at the Collection Room. The plant blossoms with every 4 Napple Seeds, increasing Poach's health capacity by 1 Life Petal. Her health capacity is initially 5 Life Petals, and it can be increased to 12 Life Petals. Napple Seeds can be obtained from chests, Druid (after creating enough Paffets for the townsfolk), and Gachatto (capsule maker). Item: Recipe Notes: Reveals the exact sequence of MIS required to create a Paffet. Many Recipes come in parts that should be assembled first, although Poach is still given the choice to blindly experiment. Item: MIS Notes: The speech of Illusia, and an ingredient used in the creation of Paffets. Standard MIS can be obtained by decoding assorted items at the Remix Room. Item: Assorted Item Notes: For the purposes of this document, "assorted item" refers to one of the many objects that can be converted to MIS through the Decode Machine. Special assorted items (listed as "important items") hold unique MIS that will be automatically processed at certain scenes. Item: Card Notes: Contains a character viewer, a gallery image, or a tune. The Cards that Poach finds are kept at the Collection Room. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [1.8] MIS and Assorted Items ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When Poach obtains at least one of every type of standard MIS and assorted item, they shall be listed at the Remix Machine and at the Decode Machine, respectively, in the following order: MIS - Spring Type Wind (windy flag) Rest (chair) Light (yellow light) Plane (flat diamond surface) Growth (white flower) Amusement (sand hut) Image (movie film) Balance (weight scales) Thought (thought bubble) Cleverness (lightbulb) Freshness (fish) Grain (scattered grains) MIS - Summer Type Atmosphere (clouds) Vitality (blazing body) Road (curved road) Building (house) Sentiment (red flower) Flourish (red radiance) Water (pouring water) Rotation (looping arrows) Rainbow (rainbow) Defense (shield) Door (wall gate) Transparency (dotted outline) MIS - Autumn Type Transformation (morphing shapes) Strength (muscular arm) Tranquility (coffee) Knowledge (book) Abundance (wheat) Swiftness (running figure) Fire (fire) Ripeness (apples) Music (musical chart) Sharpness (strands) Ball Form (ball) Sound (musical note) MIS - Winter Type Strictness (dark gray object) Clearness (snowflake) Machinery (gears) Time Flow (hourglass) Coldness (ice crystal) Silence (EKG line) Foundation (column) Transmission (campsite smoke) Death (bony plate) View (sunset view) Purification (water pipe) Cage (bars) Assorted Items Teddy Bear, Shooting Star, Airplane, Feather Pen, Dish, Doll House, Kanadoko, Solar System, Flask, Glass Shoes, Bird Nest, DNA, Computer Circuit, Chess Piece, Pot, Cartridge, Hand Bell, Earth (Model), Tree Stump, Owl, Coral, Crank, Snowflakes, Planter, Torch (Flame), Calendar, Zodiac Sign, Sundial, Movie Film, Puzzle, Dessert (Ice Cream), Bellows, Tool, Fire, Block House, Painting, Guitar, Wine (Bottle), Tornado, Fossil, Skull, Camera, Wood Stand, Turtle, Necklace. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [1.9] General Tips ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - During a Stage, the VMU (if one is being used) will display the High Score (HI), the current Score (SC), the Timer (TM), and the combos made by taking items in quick succession. Defeating an enemy adds 500 Points. Getting hurt subtracts 500 Points. The Timer pauses when Poach enters indoor areas (the homes of people) or other non-Stage-related scenes. The Score is finalized when Poach reaches the signs marking the end of the Stage. - Poach's health is restored and her Paffets' usage counters are reset whenever she returns to her room. - Paffets can't be used during boss scenes. Before confronting a boss, be sure to use any healing Paffets who are available. - Some chests can be reached only with the aid of certain Paffets, and a few chests will not appear until certain events have occurred. - When decoding an assorted item, Poach has only 60 seconds. The MIS tend to be placed at the points, corners, and other peculiar areas of the items, and hidden MIS of different color-types can overlap one another. Once all the MIS for an item have been found, more of the same type of item can be automatically converted for convenience. - Some furniture-type Paffets may want an item, as indicated by the MIS icons with which they use to communicate. If Poach has the desired item, she can give it to them simply by "talking" to them. - Using Gachatto (capsule maker) is a good way to obtain assorted items, Cards, and Napple Seeds. Poach can always save her progress first and then reload it if the items she receives are not the desired ones. - If it's Game Over, the game can go to the Load Screen or return to the beginning. ============================================================================== [2] Strategies - Standard Stages ============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.0] Napple Town ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ General Hints: On Poach's first day at Napple Town, SN will bring her to Piero's Circus. If Poach agrees, Piero will give her a tutorial in the following: jumping, using the racquet to attack and to knock bullets toward enemies, double jumping, using levers and buttons to activate platforms, using propellers, jumping on trampolines, opening doors, and using bullets to activate distant levers. At 13 Ice, the Remix Room (next to Poach's Room) contains the Decode Machine, which is used to decode MIS from items, and the Remix Machine, which is used to create Paffets. Over the course of the game, be sure to check on things at the town. There is often just as much if not more to do here than in the Stages themselves. Chests: - At the church, near the lectern. - At the church, on the roof. - On Cherry Front Street, between Alice's home and Cheryl's home. - At the music school, in the piano room. - At Stone's home, on the roof. - At 13 Ice, near the counters. (After finishing the Spring Stages.) - At Dragon's office. - At Madam's home, in the bedroom. - At Little-Money's home, on the roof. - At Frocker's home, in the office. - At Frocker's home, on the roof. - At Barnes' home, on the second floor. - At Mere's shop, in the backroom. - At Mere's shop, in the backyard. (After Mere invites Poach.) - At the Circus, on the roof. (After getting Fuumin and talking to Gomes.) - At the Circus, in Piero's private room. (Near the end of the game.) Garg: - At 13 Ice, on the roof. (After finding the Recipe for Fuumin.) - At the church, on the roof. - Behind the music school. (After finishing the Spring Stages.) - Beside Mere's shop, in the alley. (After finishing the Summer Stages.) - Beside Little-Money's home. (After finishing the Autumn Stages.) Lost Petal: After finishing the Spring Stages, when Poach visits the Circus, she will see a Petal escaping from Gomes. Poach can find the Petal in New Year's Day, near the entrance gate. This Petal belongs to a stranger, so Poach should return to Gomes at the Circus to tell him that he can't keep the Petal. Lost Fuumin: After finishing the Summer Stages and making Kehjii (cage) for Gomes, when Poach returns to the Paffet Room with the yellow door, Fuumin will act funny and run away. If Poach asks some of the townsfolk (like Angela or Jackson), she will learn that he has been last seen on Cherry Front Street. Enter Wonder Bed, and go to the ruler that leads to the Paffet refuge to find Fuumin and Garg. Both of them will disappear, but recognize the MIS in Fuumin's speech bubble? Go see Gomes at the Circus back at Napple Town. Gomes and Garg have obviously stolen Fuumin. First, speak with Maris, Angela, and Jackson to get some dirt on Gomes. (If Poach speaks with Piero, he will tell her that Gomes has recently been going to the Ushi Bar.) After getting enough evidence, speak with Gomes again. The jerk is still refusing to return Fuumin, but when Poach leaves the Circus this time, Ralph will help by distracting Gomes, allowing Poach to sneak in and steal back Fuumin. Helping Jackson: After rescuing Fuumin, when Poach visits Jackson again, she will find that Gomes is dealing with his loss through drink. Speak with Jackson to get a request for Mirumiru (milk maker). After creating it, give it to Jackson, and then sit back and watch him use his own hot recipe to kick Gomes out of his bar. Helping Barnes: After finishing the Autumn Stages, Poach will see a green garbage can on the grassy area near the town center. Barnes is inside it, and apparently he has some problems with Little-Money. To help Barnes get back his real home, speak with Little-Money, speak with Dragon (at the office on Rouge Leaf Street), create Kururun (drill woodpecker), and then speak with Little-Money again. Afterward, when Poach returns to her room at certain points over the rest of the game, Barnes will visit her and request several furniture-type Paffets to spruce up his home. Keep churning out those Paffets, and watch his house slowly turn into a very colorful place. Naughty Ralph: After finishing the Autumn Stages and recovering Fuumin from Gomes, when Poach visits the music school, Pumpkin Ralph will come down the stairs to greet her. Go up to the second floor to meet Cole. Poach can also find Pumpkin Ann in the classroom. Head back outside, and talk to Oliver. After falling for Ralph's prank (and misunderstanding poor SN's comment), Poach will be helped out of the hole by Cole. Return to the school, and enter the piano room. According to Cheryl, Ralph has been last seen on Rouge Leaf Street before vanishing, presumably through the Autumn Gate. Ralph can be found in Red and Gold, after Little-Money's home. Lost Pet: After bringing Ralph back to Napple Town, when Poach visits Ralph, she will discover his pet, another Midorishigaru, has run off. According to Ralph and Winky, his pet has been last seen on Cherry Front Street. Before going after it, create Wananan (trap). The pet can be found in Wonder Bed, at the Paffet refuge reached by using the ruler. After helping Ralph, Poach can speak with Cole to get requests for Bombohn (grandfather clock) and Kazamii (weathervane). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.1] New Year's Day ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ General Hints: This Stage is pretty much the only one that can be completed without having any other conditions fulfilled beforehand. Create and give Nohtoru (sketchbook) to Cheryl so she can doodle on something else, allowing the eggs to be cleaned up. Getting Back Gambatto: After finishing the Spring Stages, Poach can speak with Young Alice again to get a request for Akuan (water bowl). Young Alice will also return Gambatto. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.2] The Wild Wind ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ General Hints: To proceed further into this Stage, finish New Year's Day. To reach the boss, repair the piano, hit the musical notes that appear afterward, and then use the bells after the exit gate to summon the taxi. To repair the piano, first speak with Geiger at the music school (Spring version). Next, speak with Winky (Spring version) to obtain the tools. Then, return to Geiger. After the piano is fixed, be sure to try to thank Geiger. Pumpkin Ann: - Between the first and second windmills, on the upper path, use Fuumin at the square panel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.3] Wonder Bed ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ General Hints: To gain entry to this Stage, first speak with Young Alice in New Year's Day (and watch SN try to cheer her up, with hilarious results). Next, have some tea with Alice (at Napple Town) to learn more about her sleeping woes. Then, bring Gambatto to Young Alice. After tidying the various articles in her room, choose the bunny-and-watch futon. The first time Poach enters this Stage, the status of certain objects will depend on which of their corresponding articles in Young Alice's room have been tidied. When Poach returns here later, all of these objects will become active (if they haven't been already), opening the way to all the chests. After creating it, speak with Jill again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.6] Festival Night ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ General Hints: To gain entry to this Stage, finish the other Summer Stages. To reach the end, Poach will have to pass six game rooms that contain a variety of challenges. For the block rooms (first and fourth rooms), move the blocks and use them as steps. If a block falls into a pit, Poach will have to restart from the beginning of the room. Use Fuumin to save time. For the Pamera-whacking room (second room), hit the required number of Pameras. If a Pamera isn't hit, it will lower again, possibly shooting a stream of fire at Poach. For the roulette panel rooms (third and sixth rooms), the lit panels indicate the safe spots. For the cannon room (fifth room), lure the cannon into knocking all the objects into the pits. Chests: (15 total) - Appears after finishing the first game room (blocks). - After the first game room, past a gap. To clean up the spill, Poach has to help Stone confront his problem. Try to speak with Stone (at Napple Town), and then speak with Jackson to obtain the Recipe for Mataara (automatic dummy). After creating it, enter Stone's home to set it in place. Now sit back and enjoy the show. After the honey spill is cleaned up, Poach can speak with Stone again to get requests for Fumafuma (mat), Tohsha (film projector), and Reizoh (refrigerator). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.7] Red and Gold ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ General Hints: To proceed further into this Stage, finish the Summer Stages. This Stage has two exit gates. Toward the end, the upper fork leads to Madam's home and the boss, while the lower fork leads to Cecile's home. Along this lower fork, there is a pulley that offers a one-way passage to the end of the upper fork. After defeating the boss, Poach can visit Treant again simply by going to the end of this Stage. Eventually, when Poach speaks with Hope, he will ask her to make Myuuzu (phonograph), which he wants to give as a gift to Madam. After creating it, speak with Madam, and then go back into this Stage and speak with Madam (Autumn version). Afterward, Poach can speak with Madam (at Napple Town) again to get requests for Hyuusukotto (bagpipe) and Tengai (bed). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.8] Secret Garden ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ General Hints: To gain entry to this Stage, first meet with Old Cecile in Red and Gold. Next, visit Cecile's home (at Napple Town), and inspect her mirror. Then, return to Old Cecile's home in Red and Gold, and enter the mirror there. The first section consists of a circular path and three caves, and the second section consists of a sanctum. To unlock the gate to the sanctum, enter the three open doorways, and press the square floor switches at the ends of the caves. The first cave (right of the entrance gate) contains a trivia challenge that is played by choosing which pulleys to ride. The correct answers are: Answer 2 (Petal), Answer 3 (Eri), Answer 1 (Ganzo). The "boss" of this Stage takes the form of a multiple-choice challenge. Choose the responses by opening the doors. The correct answers are: left, right, left, right, left, left, right, right. Destroy the green walls so they form steps. Garg: - Right of the second doorway, use Fuumin at the square panel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.9] The Moaning Well ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ General Hints: To gain entry to this Stage, speak with Little-Money (Autumn version) in Red and Gold, and then enter the well outside his home. To reach the end, drain the water by stepping on the square floor switches, and then ride the water sliders. (Or, go up the balloons to the right, and use Kikkyu to float back left to reach the same spot.) Helping Frocker: To help Frocker (Winter version), Poach and SN need to make Chiruchiru (ice mixer), which requires two special items: Jackson's Napple Milk (from finishing Festival Night) and Mere's Hot Ice (from finishing Crystal Palace). After creating it, visit Frocker (Winter version). Helping Frocker (Winter version) will set the final scenes in motion, so Poach may want to complete any unfinished tasks at Napple Town first. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.B] Snow Corridor in Ice-Month ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ General Hints: To gain entry to this Stage, finish Fjorland. There is no boss here. Chests: (14 total) - At the first slope that has rolling snowballs. - Behind a green wall. At the tower area that forms the later part of this Stage, falling off the path will just lead back to the lower and earlier sections of the path, due to its spiraling layout. Helping Frocker (Winter version) will set the final scenes in motion, so Poach may want to complete any unfinished tasks at Napple Town first. Chests: (13 total) - After Mere's shop, near an enemy that splits into three. - Near the beginning of the tower, at the end of the first slippery path. - Near some swinging balls and an exploding enemy. - Before a trampoline, two spike balls, and a fire ring. - After some breakable platforms, near more swinging balls. - On a slippery path with lots of electric currents. - Under the first of a series of hanging spike plates. - At the area with levers that raise spike plates, under the first plate. - At the area with levers that raise spike plates, under the second plate. - At the end of a narrow slippery bridge over spikes. - At the area with overhanging ledges, use Fuumin at the square panel. - At the area with overhanging ledges, jump onto the second spike plate. - Before the exit gate, use Fuumin at the square panel and jump to the left. Garg: - After Mere's shop, use Fuumin at the square panel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2.D] Mirror Illusion ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ General Hints: Now that Poach has recovered all her Petals, she can begin her journey back to her own world. When Poach is finally ready to leave, she should talk to Druid at the church. Piero's Scheme: The circus master turns out to be not as nice as he seems. When Poach reaches the Mirror Gate, Piero will run off with her Petals. Turning back to pursue him, Poach and SN will also notice and take an odd photo lying on the tray of a machine near the entrance gate. Apparently, Piero has turned the entire town into a freak show. Poach can speak to the new "inhabitants" for fun, but doing so won't help. To rescue the townsfolk, first enter Piero's private room at the Circus to read his diary and to find the Recipe for Dorii (dream camera). Next, return to Poach's Room at 13 Ice to find Piero's notes about a good place for dreaming. Then, go to the Remix Room and create Dorii. Finally, head over to Alice's home to obtain a correct photo. After restoring Napple Town to normal, Poach can focus once again on returning to her own home. Go to the Circus, and defeat Gomes and Garg to recover the stolen Petals. Going Home: Poach won't be coming back this time, so she should bring along the healing Paffets (Hihiru and Senka), if possible. When ready, she should speak with Druid once more. Go through the first part of Mirror Illusion again, and then go through the second part. Defeat Piero to finish the game. Ending: In case you are wondering, Poach's choices of response at a few points of the game won't really affect anything except the very final scene of the Epilogue, after the Staff Credits. If higher responses have been more frequently chosen, the final scene shows SN seeing Poach's home from the outside and commenting to himself. (The implications of this can only mean more hilarity between the two to come.) If lower responses have been more frequently chosen, the final scene shows Poach thinking for a moment that she has heard someone calling out for her while she is eating soup at her home. ============================================================================== [3] Strategies - Special Stages ============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [3.1] Score Attack ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To access Score Attack, bring Adokuron to the Time-Forward Switch at the transportation company building. Paffets can't be used here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [3.2] Paffet Trial ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To access Paffet Trial, download it from Napple Tale's web site at napple.dricas.ne.jp (via the Dream Passport), and then bring Adokuron to the Time-Forward Switch at the transportation company building. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [3.3] Pamera Room (Boss Strategies) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To access the Pamera Room, bring Ritakuron to the Time-Backward Switch at the transportation company building. The Pamera Room allows Poach to battle previously defeated bosses again, although it's still Game Over if she gets wasted. Defeat three different bosses to earn an item. Paffets can't be used here. Name: Kinokohebi (Mushroom Snake) Attack: fires laser beam, sweeps with tail, burrows Stage: New Year's Day Notes: When he rears up and emits light bubbles, he will spit out a laser beam. When he rears up without any light, he will make a circular tail sweep. Sidestep or stand under the boss when he fires his laser beam, and jump over the tail sweep. If he burrows, stay away until he emerges. Name: Imoraa Attack: rolls up into a saw, emits shockwaves Stage: The Wild Wind Notes: This boss always enters the arena from where he leaves. Avoid him when he rolls up into a saw, and jump over his shockwaves. Name: Sangatsu Usagi (March Rabbit) Attack: fires carrot missiles, swings watch, drops stars from the sky Stage: Wonder Bed Notes: This boss will try to run away from Poach before throwing out carrots or swinging his pocketwatch around like a tethered saw. If Poach keeps chasing him, he won't perform those attacks, but he can still cause stars to drop from the sky whenever she hits him. Just keep running forward to dodge the stars. Sidestep or jump over the watch. Name: Teruteru Attack: sinks the paths and central platform, dashes, fires projectiles Stage: Ajisai Notes: Quickly charge toward the central platform and hit him as much as possible. When the paths and central platform flash, they are about to drop, causing Poach to fall into the pit if she does not retreat to the outer platforms in time. While the paths are sunk, Poach should jump to the sides to avoid the boss when he dashes toward her and then dashes back to the central platform. Sometimes, instead of sinking the paths, he will try to teleport Poach back to an outer platform. Move away from the central platform when the teleport field appears to avoid getting warped. Name: Ikanappuru (Squid-Napple) Attack: fires missiles, dashes, extends tentacles Stage: Once Summer Notes: Avoid the missiles, or knock them back at the boss. If he dashes across the middle of the arena, stay to the sides. If he jumps into the arena, run away from his tentacles. If he extends a tentacle into the arena while still swimming around outside, whack the tentacle. Name: Housenka Attack: spits fire rings, drops fire blasts from the sky Stage: Festival Night Notes: Sidestep the fire rings, and watch the shadows to see where the fire blasts will land. Leap up beside her and strike to hit her. Name: Tree Demon - Treant Attack: smashes with hands, emits energy bolts with hands Stage: Red and Gold Notes: Knock Treant's bombs at the boss, who is the wooden face appearing on the walls in the distance. The large bombs will explode after a while, and take care not to knock them into Treant by accident. Watch the shadows of the floating hands to see where the boss will attack. Name: Gnomes - Dragon Attack: breathes fire, activates moving wall Stage: The Moaning Well Notes: Hit the gnomes as they try to steal the money. If a gnome makes off with a coin, Dragon will breathe fire to waste him. Poach can try to avoid the flame breath by jumping. If too many coins are left scattered on the ground, Dragon will activate a moving wall to push them back toward the pile. Jump over this wall to avoid getting squished. Name: Karakuri Omocha - Ichi, Tsuvai, and Torowa Attack: fires projectiles, dashes Stage: Fjorland Notes: For the first phase (Ichi), hit the blue head. Sidestep or jump over the projectiles if possible. For the second phase (Tsuvai), hit the red bulb, and jump over the laser beams. For the third phase (Torowa), hit the red puppet while jumping over its shockwaves and dodging it when it dashes. For the fourth phase (the combined toy), hit the central body. The boss will use all the previous attacks, but Poach can avoid most of them if she stays close to the side of the boss, where she can still whack it. Name: Ice Heads - Koori no Joou (Ice Queen) Attack: sends out exploding drones, fires laser beams, drops icicles Stage: Crystal Palace Notes: Hit or avoid the exploding drones when they approach. Avoid the laser beams that are fired by the Queen's hair. When the screen darkens with snowflakes, watch the shadows and avoid the falling icicles, which will break apart into shards. Defeat all the Ice Heads to win. Name: Gomes and Garg Attack: strikes forward, smashes the ground, dashes (Gomes) Attack: dashes, casts lightning fields, fires spreading projectiles (Garg) Stage: Circus Notes: Move to Gomes' sides to avoid his forward attacks, but stay away from him whenever he jumps up to smash the ground, causing chunks to fly up and then crash back down around him. If Garg is defeated first, Gomes will also perform dashing attacks. Move to the sides to avoid Garg's dashing attacks, and stay away from him to avoid his lightning fields. If Gomes is defeated first, Garg will also fire spreading projectiles that can be easily sidestepped. Name: Piero Attack: fires deathrays, uses various other attacks depending on his form Stage: Mirror Illusion Notes: For the first phase (Piero 1), Piero will teleport to a different location whenever Poach hits him. Jump over his massive deathrays, and stay far away from him when he causes stars to rain down around him. Leap over him if he makes a dashing attack. For the second phase (Piero 2), jump up and hit him. Poach can run to the sides or stay below him to avoid his deathrays, but he will claw out if she remains near him. Piero will also use four different attacks based on the seasons. The spring attack is summoning a horde of drones that slowly chase Poach. She can destroy these drones. The summer attack is summoning flying monsters who drop barrages of projectiles. Keep running to avoid them. The autumn attack is summoning floating pods that shoot spreading needles. Jump over and away from them. The winter attack is dropping icicles from the sky. Watch the ice patches on the ground to know where the icicles will land. For the third phase (Piero 3), jump up and hit him like before. Piero will mix up the previous seasonal attacks, in addition to shooting more streams of projectiles. The arena will be breaking apart a bit, allowing Poach to fall off at the edges, but Life Petals will also keep appearing now. ============================================================================== [4] Card Collection ============================================================================== The Presents Screen provides access to the same items kept at the Collection Room, and it also provides access to the Diary. At least two tunes are exclusive to the Special Stages (Score Attack, Pamera Room). Nine tunes are exclusive to the Music Collection (Ajisai, Once Summer, Festival Night, Old Cecile, Mirror Illusion 1, Piero's Napple Town, Piero 1, Decode, Hyuusukotto). One tune is exclusive to SN's Diary (Diary). Two tunes are exclusive to Yousei Zukan (Boss Defeated, Myuuzu). One tune is exclusive to Kaijuu Zukan (Stage Select). One tune is exclusive to Shippo no Uta (Bonus Song). Excluded Tunes Speaking of music, the excluded tunes in Yousei Zukan are a disappointing loss. Among them should be the tunes of the Special Stages and of SN's Diary. Missing Door The Pamera Room is supposed to have a door leading to each of the bosses who have been defeated. However, the door that should lead to Piero seems to never appear, because the game immediately ends once Poach defeats him. Napple Hygiene Despite Paffets like Basutabun, the buildings that Poach visits have zero washrooms. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [5.4] Document Credits ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chime (www.chime.co.jp) (napple.dricas.ne.jp) For developing Napple Tale.
