[1] Overview
==============================================================================

 1st Playable's Gym Rockets (a.k.a. Imagine: Gymnast, not to be
 confused with the 2010 follow-up) is a gymnastics game that features
 a Player-created heroine and a gentle yet flexible style of action.
 Its controls are based almost entirely on the Touch Screen.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1.1] Story
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

   Having just moved into a new home, the heroine meets Beverly, a neighbor
 and soon-to-be best friend who brings her into the local gymnastics team.
 There, the heroine will discover her talent and develop the skills that
 will one day make her a champion.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1.2] Characters
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Heroine (Player-Named)
 The main protagonist. The heroine is unsure about getting into gymnastics
 at first, but with the help of Beverly and her other pals, she will
 eventually become the star of the team. By default, she has green eyes
 and brownish red hair with a ponytail.

Beverly
 The heroine's best friend. Beverly is the one who introduces the heroine
 into her gymnastics group and encourages the heroine to fulfill her
 potential. She has green eyes and brown hair.

Tammy
 The coach, and a former Olympics competitor herself. Tammy likes
 bubble gum, and she has a habit of blowing her whistle to interrupt
 intimate chats between the heroine and Beverly.

Laura
 A bitchy gymnast. To win over Laura, the heroine will need to impress
 her with some fancy work. She has turquoise eyes and brown hair with
 a bob cut. She appears thrice.

Melissa
 A friendly gymnast. Like Beverly, Melissa is a nice and agreeable person.
 She has gray eyes, a mole on her left cheek, and black hair tied into
 a bun. She appears only once.

Justin
 The heroine's younger brother. Justin isn't too annoying, but he is a
 very minor and inconsequential character who is unnecessary to the story.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1.3] Controls
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Touch Screen - Navigate the menus, begin a routine, and perform moves.
 For the moves, be sure to draw large strokes, because small strokes
 tend to be treated as erroneous taps. The game uses cardinal strokes
 (for most moves), diagonal strokes (for some intermediate moves), and
 circle strokes (for spins in the Vault Events and for gaining Energy
 in the Uneven Bars Events). Certain moves in the Vault Events involve
 connecting multiple motions as single strokes (for example, Up-then-Down).

Scroll Button (A) - Continue to the next part of dialogue during Movies. Use
 this instead of the Touch Screen to avoid accidentally skipping any dialogue.

Pause Button (Start) - Pause, and skip the Movies. The Pause Screen displays
 the Event Goals and has the options of resuming the Event and of returning
 to the Main Menu.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1.4] Main Menu
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1.4.0] Select File (Locker Room)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

File 1 - Choose the first File (default). This locker is along the same side
 of the room as the doorway.

File 2 - Choose the second File. This locker is near the sofa in the back
 that will eventually have the large teddy bear.

File 3 - Choose the third File. This locker is on the other side of the
 red sofa near the doorway.

 The heroine's name is limited to 10 characters.

 Remain on a heroine without making any input for 20 seconds to enter
 Demo Mode, starring the heroine at a randomly determined Gym and Event.

 The heroine of the latest-numbered File that is in use will be the one
 who flips across the Logo Screen.

 There is a glitch where tapping the Left and Right Arrows can count
 as a double-tap here, resulting in the game changing through two Files
 without the camera's movement being correctly animated. If this happens,
 the File changing sound effect will play twice very quickly, and the
 heroine's character model will require more time to be refreshed, although
 the background lockers will appear to be the exact same. Take care when
 creating a new heroine to ensure that her File is indeed the desired one.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1.4.1] Enter Gym (Bulletin Board)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gym Icons - Enter a Gym (Venue), and prepare to perform at an Event. Each Gym
 has 3 Events, each of which has 5 Event Goals (for a total of 15 Event Goals
 for every Gym). To gain access to the next Gym and the next set of moves,
 reach at least 6 Event Goals in the current Gym.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1.4.2] Pro Shop / Customize (Shop)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Shop - Buy items with the Tokens earned from performing at Events and from
 playing the Trampoline Minigame.

Customize - Equip or adjust the items that have been obtained.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1.4.3] Minigames (Balcony)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Trampoline - Play the Trampoline Minigame.

Puppet Show - Play the Puppet Show Minigame.

Fortune Teller - Play the Fortune Teller Minigame.

Coloring Book - Play the Coloring Book Minigame.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1.4.4] Options (Computer)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sound Effects - Adjust the volume of the sound effects. The default setting
 is maximum, but this may be changed from 0 to maximum.

Music - Adjust the volume of the background music. The default setting
 is maximum, but this may be changed from 0 to maximum.

Credits - View the Staff Credits. Press Start to stop.

Erase Game - Reset the current File to a New Game.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1.4.5] Practice (Ring Jumping Gymnast Icon)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Practice Icon - Enter Practice Mode, where the Moves List can be viewed
 and the moves can be practiced. However, Tokens aren't awarded here.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1.5] Stats
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 The heroine's Stats determine her Energy gain in the Events, affecting
 how many points she can score. Each of the Stats begins at 1 and can
 be upgraded to a maximum of 10.

Balance
 Determines the heroine's Energy gain in the Beam Events.
 To reach all the Event Goals, upgrade this to at least 8.

Flexibility
 Determines the heroine's Energy gain in the Performance Events.
 To reach all the Event Goals, upgrade this to 10. (Of all the
 Stats, only this one must be maximized.)

Agility
 Determines the heroine's Energy gain in the Floor Events.
 To reach all the Event Goals, upgrade this to at least 7.

Upper Body
 Determines the heroine's Energy gain in the Uneven Bars Events.
 To reach all the Event Goals, upgrade this to at least 8.
 For an easier time, upgrade this to 9 or 10.

Lower Body
 Determines the heroine's Energy gain in the Vault Events.
 To reach all the Event Goals, upgrade this to at least 8.
 For an easier time, upgrade this to 9 or 10.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1.6] Events and Moves
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 The plus-sign symbol indicates a lateral half-turn of the body,
 affecting the direction of facing upon the end of the move.
 As such, an odd number of pluses results in a reversed facing,
 while an even number of pluses results in a forward facing.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1.6.1] Balance Beam Moves (31 total) (Pink Beam Icon)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 In the Beam Events, the heroine can keep performing moves until
 she doesn't have enough Energy to perform another move. Her Balance
 determines the Energy gain at the beginning after she jumps onto the
 beam, by touching the flower-like symbol as its shrinks toward the left.
 The heroine will automatically reposition herself between every combo,
 and she will always make perfect landings.

[1.6.2] Floor Moves (43 total) (Orange Mat Icon)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 In the Floor Events (traditional floor exercises), the heroine can keep
 performing moves until she doesn't have enough Energy or space to perform
 another move for each of the three parts. Her Agility determines the
 Energy gain at the beginning of each part, by touching the flower-like
 symbols as they quickly appear at random spots. Some of the moves are
 only for the first and third parts (along the mat's diagonals), while
 the others are only for the second part (along the mat's edge).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1.6.3] Uneven Bars Moves (40 total) (Yellow Bars Icon)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 In the Uneven Bars Events, the heroine can keep performing moves for a
 certain number of times, and then she will automatically finish, regardless
 of how much Energy remains. Her Upper Body determines the Energy gain
 for every circle stroke. Some of the moves are for the lower bar, some
 are for the upper bar, and the rest are for transitions between the bars.
 "(Rev)" indicates beginning by facing the other direction.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1.6.4] Vault Moves (31 total) (Green Vault Icon)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 In the Vault Events, the heroine will make two vaults, whose results
 will be combined. Her Lower Body determines the Energy gain during her
 run at the beginning of every vault, by rapidly rubbing the Touch Screen
 left and right. Unlike in the other Events, the Score Multiplier here is
 determined by the number of times the Energy Meter is completely filled.
 After making the stroke for the vault, touch the flower-like symbols in
 the correct numerical order to make a perfect landing.
 The Leap is the unlisted 0-point move that occurs with no stroke input.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1.6.5] Performance Moves (32 total) (Blue Ribbon Icon)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 In the Performance Events (dance exercises), the heroine can keep performing
 moves until she doesn't have enough Energy or space to perform another move
 for each of the three parts. Her Flexibility determines the Energy gain at
 the beginning of each part, and this Energy gain is completely automatic.
 Strangely enough, following the stroke prompts is optional, and ignoring
 them has no effect on the Energy gain or the scoring. (The vertical meter
 on the left side of the Touch Screen has no apparent gameplay significance.)
 The moves are a mix of the floor moves and the balance beam moves,
 along with other artistic moves that are exclusive here. Unlike in
 the Floor Events, the moves can be performed for all three parts.
 The Swan moves require the maximum Flexibility of 10.
[1.7] Results Screen
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 The Results Screen appears at the end of an Event to report the
 points scored, the amount of Tokens earned, and other information.
Name
 The heroine's name.
Stats
 The heroine's Stats.
Tokens
 The current total amount of Tokens, and the amount earned (displayed
 on the Touch Screen, under the "Great Job!" message). Reaching an
 Event Goal for the first time will yield a predetermined bonus amount
 of Tokens, but replaying an Event will yield only 5 Tokens.
Score
 The points scored. This game uses its own scoring system (displayed
 in the rectangular field), but, on the Results Screen, it also converts
 these points into the 10-point-scale scores (displayed in the star-shaped
 field) that roughly correspond to those used in real-world tournaments.
Item Notification
 Indicates that a new item is revealed at the Shop.
Shop Shortcut (Small Token Icon)
 Go to the Shop now.
Retry, Done, or Stats
 Replay the same Event, return to the Gym Event Menu, or, if new Stats Points
 are awarded, go to the Stats Allocation Menu.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[1.8] General Tips
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 - Toward the end of the game, upgrade the Flexibility to the maximum of 10,
 or else the final Performance Event can't be fully completed. However, the
 Stats should be upgraded evenly along the way to ensure all the Events will
 fall within the proper level of difficulty.
 - Be sure to draw large strokes, because small strokes are often
 erroneously treated as taps.
 - In the Floor Events, to gain Energy more easily, leave the Stylus on
 the Touch Screen and drag it over the flower-like symbols as they appear.
 There is no need to lift the Stylus and separately tap each symbol here.
 - In the Beam Events, the Energy gained can exceed what is shown in the
 Energy Meter, so keep touching the flower-like symbol even if the Meter
 appears to be full.
 - Access to the next Gym and new moves are awarded upon the basic completion
 of the latest Gym, by reaching at least 6 Event Goals ("Targets") in that
 Gym. On the Gym Event Menu, the "Progress Goals" refer to the progress
 for the basic completion of the current Gym, while the "Venue Goals"
 refer to the total Event Goals of the current Gym.
 - Many of the Event Goals' indicated moves come in multiple versions.
 Normally, the heroine has to go through trial and error, performing
 the different versions until finding the "correct" ones.
 - The Event Goals may be completed across separate sessions, in any order.
 Feel free to perform the indicated moves in one session, and then use
 any combos to earn the required Scores in another session.
 - At first, the heroine will be able to perform only simple combos. Later,
 when she acquires higher Stats and more moves, she can return to previous
 Events and use her greater Energy gain and larger repertoire of moves to
 earn a lot more points.
 - Performing combos (or filling the Energy Meter in the Vault Events) will
 increase the Score Multiplier, by 1 for every consecutive move (or every
 filled Energy Meter in the Vault Events), up to a maximum of 5. Making a
 miss will result in an "Oops..." message, and the only penalty is resetting
 the Score Multiplier, although the current combo can still be finished,
 immediately increasing the Score Multiplier again. Attempting to perform
 a move without sufficient Energy carries no penalty and will maintain
 the Score Multiplier.
 - For the later Events, avoiding misses and maintaining the Score Multiplier
 is vital to attaining the Event Goals' required Scores. Repeat combos
 of three or fewer moves to conserve Energy, allowing for more total moves
 and therefore more points.
 - The Trampoline Minigame is the only Minigame that yields rewards,
 with 5 Tokens for passing each round and with 1 Stats Point for passing
 every 5 rounds for the first time, up to 25 rounds (for a possible total
 of 5 Stats Points). This is the fastest way to earn Tokens after all the
 Events are fully completed. For the first round, deliberately make two
 misses, and then play earnestly from there. Doing so will reduce the amount
 of time spent waiting for the strokes to be displayed again after a miss.
 - To earn all Stats Points and to reveal all items at the Shop,
 fully complete the Gyms by reaching all Event Goals and "finish"
 the Trampoline Minigame by passing at least 25 rounds.
 - Glitch Warning: If the game freezes after the Stats Allocation Menu but
 before Auto-Saving again, the added Stats Points will be permanently lost.
 Minimize the chances of this disaster occurring by keeping the cartridge's
 contact pins clean and by letting the system rest after a long period of
 play. On the Customize Menu, changing an Event Tune's setting is one way
 to trigger an Auto-Save.
[2.0] Prologue
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Story:
 Beverly:
 Just moving in, huh?
 Heroine:
 Yup! I'm [Heroine].
 Beverly:
 Hi, I'm Beverly. I live just two
 doors down.
 (Justin appears.)
 Beverly: (thinking)
 ?!?
 Heroine:
 That's my brother Justin, he's
 such a pest!
 Justin:
 I heard that!
 Heroine: (thinking)
 Sigh, there goes any
 chance of convincing her
 I'm normal...
 Beverly:
 Oh that's okay, I've got great
 balance! Watch this!
 (Beverly makes a handstand.)
 Heroine:
 Wow! How'd you learn to do
 that?
 Beverly:
 In gymnastics, I've been doing
 it for a few years now. You
 should totally try it.
 Heroine:
 I don't know...
 Heroine: (thinking)
 That looks really tough!
 Beverly:
 I'll introduce you to my coach,
 it's easy once you figure out
 the basics. She was even in
 the Olympics once!
 (The heroine goes to the gym.)
 Beverly:
 This is [Heroine], the girl I told
 you about. She moved in just a
 few days ago.
 Tammy:
 Hi [Heroine], I'm Coach Tammy.
 Beverly said you were
 interested in learning some
 gymnastics.
 Heroine:
 Absolutely! I mean, I'd like to
 but I doubt I'd ever be able to
 do the stuff Beverly can do.
 Tammy:
 Well we'll start with the
 basics and work on up from
 there.
 In gymnastics, everything builds
 upon what you've learned
 before. You'll do just fine!
 Beverly:
 What did I tell you? She's
 great! You'll have lots of fun
 here!
 Heroine:
 She sure seems nice.
 Heroine: (thinking)
 But her hair sure is huge!
 And I simply can't stand
 when someone talks while
 chewing gum.
 Beverly:
 Don't be nervous, just have
 fun!
 Heroine:
 So where do I start?
Story:
 Beverly:
 You're a quick learner!
 Heroine:
 Thanks, it's tough work alright.
 Beverly:
 Well, my grandmother used to
 always tell me that nothing
 easy is worth doing; it's
 always difficult at the
 beginning.
 Heroine:
 That's good advice!
 Heroine: (thinking)
 I have a feeling this is
 going to be difficult
 through the middle to the
 end as well!
 Beverly:
 Keep it up! You're already
 catching up with me.
 Heroine:
 I don't know about that...
 lit windows that are changing.
Setting:
 The third Gym has large glass windows looking out to many skyscrapers
 and a dark fog rolling across beneath the night skies.
Story:
 (The heroine is in her room. There are pink window shades, a purple rug,
 a bed with purple blankets, a flower vase, some cat-like stuffed animals,
 some posters of hearts, and a poster of a brunette girl in a blue leotard.)
 Beverly: (message on the heroine's phone)
 Call me!
 Heroine:
 Beverly! I'm so sorry I couldn't
 make it to the practice tonight
 I was out shopping and Justin
 was being a brat and...
 Beverly:
 That doesn't matter...
 ...my leg, it's broken. I'm stuck
 in the hospital, it's horrible!
 Heroine: (thinking)
 Oh no!
 (The heroine sees Beverly at the hospital.)
 Beverly:
 [Heroine], will you sign my cast?
 (The heroine's signature is saved here and will appear later.)
 Heroine:
 Coach Tammy... Beverly...
 Tammy:
 I heard. It's unfortunate but
 she'll be good as new soon
 enough.
 This does leave us down one
 team member, however. Not
 where we want to be, heading
 into the qualifiers.
 Heroine: (thinking)
 I hadn't thought of that!
 Without Beverly there's no
 way we'll qualify!
 Tammy:
 So, what do you say? Will you
 help out the team, and
 Beverly, by leading us through
 the qualifiers?
 Heroine:
 Me?! I'm nowhere near
 Beverly's level!
 Tammy:
 Nonsense! You're a natural!
 You've caught on quick and,
 with some dedication and
 training, you'll pass the
 qualifiers.
 Heroine: (thinking)
 Me..?
 Tammy:
 After that I've no doubt in my
 mind that you'll continue on to
 even greater competitions!
 Heroine:
 I don't know what to say...
 Tammy:
 Well say yes, of course!
 (The heroine bumps into a girl with turquoise eyes and brown hair.)
 Laura:
 Can't you watch where you're
 going?!
 Heroine:
 Sorry.
 Heroine: (thinking)
 I wish Beverly were here.
 (The heroine meets a girl with gray eyes, a mole on her left cheek,
 and black hair.)
 Melissa:
 Don't mind Laura, she's always
 like that.
 I'm Melissa.
 Heroine:
 Hi, I'm [Heroine].
 Melissa:
 It's nice to see someone new
 to compete against! Good luck!
 Thanks! You too!
 make sure you're not slacking
 Hint: For the earlier plays of this Event, the heroine shouldn't go to the
 upper bar yet, because she doesn't have longer combos to score more points.
 Target 4's Pike Circle is a transition from the lower to the upper bar.
Icon:
 Two blue waves that are bobbing up and down.
Setting:
Story:
 Heroine:
 This place is gorgeous!
 Laura:
 You again? I guess they'll let
 anyone in here.
 Heroine: (thinking)
 Great, it's Laura. I'll just
 ignore her, like Melissa
 said.
 Heroine:
 Hey Laura.
 Laura:
 Hmph.
 Heroine: (thinking)
 Well at least she isn't
 bothering me anymore.
 I'll just have to do my best
 and show her I've got
 what it takes!
 who thinks so.
Story:
 Heroine:
 Beverly! Your cast is off!
 Beverly:
 Yep! I still need to use the
 crutches, but it's much easier
 to get around.
 You're in the big leagues now,
 [Heroine]. Ready to try out
 some new moves?
 Heroine:
 As ready as I'll ever be!
 Beverly:
 You're going to have to try
 harder than what I've been
 seeing if you're going to win
 this.
 Heroine:
 It's not just about winning,
 remember? We're doing this
 for the fun of it.
 Beverly:
 I'm just saying, you've got your
 work cut out for you.
 Heroine: (thinking)
 Why is she so focused on
 winning all of the sudden?
 Three yellow triangles, with the front one swinging from the top corner.
Setting:
 The eighth Gym is an outdoor arena that contains four large steel arches.
 A smaller arch in the back has yellow triangle symbols. Clouds are moving
 fast across the skies, and the pine trees can be seen swaying in the wind.
 Is there a river near this place?
Icon:
 A red minaret that has a gold swirl running around it, with a shine
 that travels up along this swirl.
Setting:
 The ninth Gym is a castle hall with large windows overlooking the buildings
 of the city, where a rainstorm is falling. Clouds are passing quickly across
 outside the windows, and water droplets are running down the panes.
Story:
 Tammy:
 Okay [Heroine], this is your
 final match before going for
 the world championship!
 Heroine:
 Right, no pressure...
 Tammy:
 Just do your best and you'll be
 fine.
 Beverly:
 You'll have to do better if you
 want to take home the gold.
 Tammy:
 Now Beverly, don't forget the
 goal is always to have fun
 and do your best. Winning
 comes secondary.
 Beverly:
 But if [Heroine] can't win this
 she won't make it to the
 championship.
 Tammy:
 In which case we will still be
 thrilled at all the hard work
 that went into making it this
 far.
 Heroine: (thinking)
 Beverly only seems to
 care about winning. She
 doesn't even sound like
 herself.
 Does she really feel that
 I'll let her down if I don't
 do well?
 Tammy:
 Are you ready, [Heroine]?
Event 1: Performance
 Target 1: Score 500 points.
 Target 2: Score 800 points.
 Target 3: Score 1500 points.
 Target 4: Perform Pike Jump. (Up, Up-Right, Right, Right.)
 Target 5: Perform Roll. (Down, Down-Left, Left, Left.)
Event 2: Uneven Bars
 Target 1: Score 600 points.
 Target 2: Score 1200 points.
 Target 3: Score 3000 points.
 Target 4: Score 4000 points.
 Target 5: Perform Salto. (Upper: Right, Up-Right, Up.)
 Hint: One way to achieve Target 4's 4000 points is to begin with
 the Up, Up-Right, Right combo, very quickly maximize the Energy
 while the first move is being performed but before the second move
 is performed, and then keep repeating the Right, Up-Left, Down combo
 (Reversed Hecht, Swing, Saddle). The heroine's Upper Body must be
 at least 8, or else she won't maximize her Energy in that early part.
Event 3: Beam
 Target 1: Score 600 points.
 Target 2: Score 1200 points.
 Target 3: Score 3000 points.
 Target 4: Score 4000 points.
 Target 5: Perform Round-Off. (Right, Down-Right, Down-Right, Right.)
 Hint: One way to achieve Target 4's 4000 points is to repeat combos of
 three or fewer moves to conserve Energy, allowing for more total moves.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.A] Gym 10: International Play Pavilion
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Icon:
 A blue and green globe that spins, but the land masses don't look like
 the actual ones.
Setting:
 The tenth Gym is a large outdoor arena. A spinning globe is mounted
 at the top on one side, with spotlights flashing upward around it.
 The starry night skies are clear.
Story:
 Heroine:
 Beverly...
 Beverly:
 Oh [Heroine]! I'm so sorry about
 how I've been behaving!
 I was so happy for you... I just
 wanted you to win!
 Heroine:
 Winning wouldn't mean anything
 without having my friends with
 me.
 Without having you with me!
 (The heroine and Beverly highfive each other.)
 Tammy:
 Okay you two, we've got work
 to do.
 And I do mean both of you!
 Heroine:
 Beverly! Your crutches!
 Beverly:
 My leg is all better now, and
 I'm ready to start training
 again!
 (Beverly makes a handstand.)
 See?
 Heroine:
 Now I can make sure you
 aren't slacking off.
Event 1: Floor
 Target 1: Score 600 points.
 Target 2: Score 1200 points.
 Target 3: Score 3000 points.
 Target 4: Score 4000 points.
 Target 5: Perform Leap. (Part 2: Up, Up-Left, Right, Up.)
Event 2: Vault
 Target 1: Score 600 points.
 Target 2: Score 1200 points.
 Target 3: Score 3000 points.
 Target 4: Score 4000 points.
 Target 5: Perform Stretched Salto. (Up-then-Down, Circle, Circle.)
 Hint: To achieve Target 4's 4000 points, the heroine must do the most
 difficult vault twice, with the highest Score Multiplier of 5, performing
 the Flic-Flac Twist (Down-Right-then-Left-then-Up-Right), and making
 a perfect landing (by tapping the flower-shaped symbols in order).
 The heroine's Lower Body must be at least 8, or else she won't be
 able to maximize her Energy during the run. For an easier time with
 the Flic-Flac Twist, begin at the Touch Screen's top left corner,
 stroke diagonally across to the bottom right corner, stroke straight
 to the bottom left corner, and then stroke diagonally across to the
 top right corner. Due to inconsistencies with the scoring, multiple
 attempts may be required.
Event 3: Performance
 Target 1: Score 600 points.
 Target 2: Score 1200 points.
 Target 3: Score 3000 points.
 Target 4: Score 4000 points.
 Target 5: Perform Swan. (Down, Down-Right, Right, Right, Up.)
 Hint: One way to achieve Target 4's 4000 points is to repeat combos of
 three or fewer moves to conserve Energy, allowing for more total moves.
 Target 5's Swan requires a Flexibility of 10.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[2.B] Epilogue
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Story:
 Beverly:
 You did it!
 Heroine:
 No, we did it!
 Justin:
 I knew you could do it!
 Heroine:
 Hahaha, now get off me,
 squirt!
 Justin:
 Watch this!
 Tammy:
 That's not bad, Justin!
 Heroine:
 Looks like you've found your
 next star!
[3] Minigames
==============================================================================
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3.1] Trampoline
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 The Trampoline Minigame is a memory game where strokes are displayed and
 then have to be manually repeated, beginning with one randomly determined
 stroke and adding another for each round. The session ends after 3 misses.
 This is the only Minigame that yields rewards, with 5 Tokens for passing
 each round and with 1 Stats Point for passing every 5 rounds for the
 first time, up to 25 rounds (for a possible total of 5 Stats Points).
 The heroine performs a randomly determined move with each round passed:
 - Tucks in her knees.
 - Points her legs forward, touching her toes.
 - Spreads her legs laterally apart, making a split leap.
 - Spins in a standing twirl, her arms holding herself.
 - Spins in a flexed twirl, with her limbs angled accordingly.
 - Flexes backward, pointing her toes and head together.
 - Flexes her legs and performs a slow forward flip.
 - Spreads her legs vertically apart and performs rapid forward flips.
 - Stretches upright and performs rapid backward flips.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3.2] Puppet Show
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 The Puppet Show Minigame demonstrates some of the DS' graphics capabilities.
 It isn't gymnastics-related but can serve as an artistic outlet of sorts.
 Only the portion of the sheet within the default gray outline is rendered
 as the Puppet on the Top Screen.
 Each heroine's File has its own two Puppet Files.
Save Puppet Options (When Choosing to Exit)
 Puppet A - Save to Puppet File A.
 Puppet B - Save to Puppet File B.
 Discard - Exit without Saving.
Load Puppet (Puppet with One Raised Arm Icon)
 Puppet B - Load from Puppet File B.
 Cancel - Cancel without Loading.
Motions (8 total) (Puppet with Two Raised Arms Icon)
 Salute, Wiggle,
 Bounce, Chicken,
 Robot, Kicks,
 Disco, Cheer.
Group View (Eye Icon)
 View nine copies of the Puppet dancing as a group. Tap the Touch Screen to
 return. (The Puppets are standing on a recyclable cardboard shipping box in
 what appears to be a green garden that has pencil and paintbrush images.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3.3] Fortune Teller
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 The Fortune Teller Minigame is a virtual version of the popular folded paper
 toy. Choose a color and two numbers to flip its quadrants for the specified
 amounts of times, and then choose the final number to view the Fortune.
 The default Fortunes consist of text messages written in purple. They can
 be replaced by Player-created ones, but these edits can't be saved, and each
 Fortune can have only one color. Make any edit to a Fortune to replace it
 until the end of the session, or leave it blank to use its default setting.
Quadrant Colors and Symbols
 Red Heart (2 Flips), Green Clover (4 Flips),
 Yellow Star (5 Flips), Blue Crescent (3 Flips).
Quadrant Numbers - First Set
 1, 2,
 6, 5.
Quadrant Numbers - Second Set
 8, 3,
 7, 4.
Fortune 1
 Success comes
  with practice.
Fortune 2
 about all that
   you do.
Fortune 3
 to play outside.
Fortune 4
  intuition.
Fortune 5
   that are
 impossible for
      you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3.4] Coloring Book
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 The Coloring Book Minigame displays various images from the Movies and lets
 them be recolored via a fill-in style, but these edits can't be saved.
 The images are in the following order:
 - Heroine and Beverly.
 - Heroine and Beverly being interrupted by Justin.
 - Heroine and Beverly meeting Tammy.
 - Heroine and Beverly training.
 - Heroine getting the call from Beverly about her injured leg.
 - Heroine signing Beverly's cast.
 - Heroine and Melissa.
 - Heroine, Beverly on her crutches, and Tammy blowing her whistle.
 - Heroine and Laura being friendly.
 - Heroine with her medal, Beverly, and Tammy.
 The Shop sells Leotard Prints, Accessories, Event Tunes, and Themes.
 Multiple girls in red-and-black leotards smile as they perform in
 various events, including the floor exercise, the uneven bars, and
 the balance beam. Strangely enough, they are all wearing black shorts
 underneath their leotards, which would normally reveal their hips.
 What else are they hiding within their suits?
Cover Art: (European)
 A girl in a sleek, pink leotard smiles as she sits in a split pose,
 with her right leg before her and her left leg behind her, showing
 her lovely figure. Surrounding her are four floating frames with
 rounded corners that contain images of other girls doing gymnastics.
 The top left frame has a girl in a white leotard in the middle of
 a handstand on a balance beam. The top right frame has an up-close
 view of two hands with wrist guards and protective tape gripping
 a bar. The lower left frame has three girls in red leotards wearing
 medals and holding flower bouquets as they smile and wave to the crowds,
 presumably standing at an award ceremony. The lower right frame has
 a girl in a black leotard sitting in a split pose but also arching
 her back, making a ring with her head bending close to her flexed
 right leg's toes. The background is a blank white with green waves
 running laterally across it, and silhouettes of girls performing
 various gymnastic movements are superimposed along these waves.
 Curiously, the leftmost silhouette shows its girl holding a ball,
 even though rhythmic gymnastics isn't a part of this game.
[5.2] Additional Reference
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ener-G: Gym Rockets (DS) (2008) (Developer: 1st Playable Productions)
 A gymnastics game that features a Player-created heroine and a gentle
 yet flexible style of action. Its controls are based almost entirely
 on the Touch Screen. There are many customization options for the heroine,
 and the action focuses less on the challenge and more on the aesthetics
 of the sport.
Ener-G: Dance Squad (DS) (2008) (Developer: Lexis Numerique)
 A dance game that features modular sets of reflex challenges of varying
 difficulty. Its controls are based almost entirely on the Touch Screen.
 There are few customization options for the heroine, but collectible items
 can be traded with friends.
Ener-G: Horse Riders (DS) (2008) (Developer: Virtual Toys and Lexis Numerique)
 A horse caretaking and riding game that features a relaxed yet comprehensive
 treatment of the subject. Its controls are based almost entirely on the
 Touch Screen yet also support the traditional buttons for most parts.
 There are no customization options for the heroine, but horses and
 collectible items can be traded with friends.
Ener-G (Flash) (2008) (www.ener-ggame.com) (ener-g.us.ubi.com)
 An interactive collection of information about Ubisoft's Ener-G series.
 For Gym Rockets, there is a balancing game where the Mouse Cursor is
 used to help the gymnast remain upright as she automatically travels
 back and forth across the beam. For Dance Squad, there is a sound mixer
 where four switches can be toggled on and off to change the music and
 the lighting effects. For Horse Riders, there is apparently no special
 activity available. The lobby displays two more doors for additional
 entries that have never been created, and the map reveals an upper floor
 with three doors that are otherwise out of view. (This site has been closed
 in the midsummer of 2019.)
Imagine: Gymnast (DS) (2010) (Developer: 1st Playable Productions)
 A gymnastics game that features a team of playable heroines who have
 many aesthetic options. It is a follow-up to Gym Rockets, and it simplifies
 the goals and the acquirement of items but encourages the replaying of the
 events with the Player-created heroine and her four predetermined friends.
 (This game should not be confused with Gym Rockets' European version,
 which is also named Imagine: Gymnast.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[5.3] Really Small Details That Make Little Girls Go Blasting Off
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rock It, Girls
 The name, Gym Rockets, doesn't appear anywhere in the story. Is it supposed
 to refer to Beverly and the heroine's team?
Early Girls
 In the Ener-G Flash experience, the screen samples reveal some differences
 between the early versions and the final version of this game. Tammy has
 an alternate appearance. The menus' background color scheme of yellow is
 changed to blue. The Customize Menu's "Leotards" section is changed to the
 "Costumes" section, and the text display of the section's name is changed
 to a general "Customize" text display that is also more centered on the
 Touch Screen. (The heroine's name is simply "R" in the screen samples.
 Does it stand for "Rocket?" Or are we just reading a bit way too much
 into this?)
Super Score Girls
 The Floor Events and the Performance Events don't reset the Score Multiplier
 at the end of every combo, and that allows the heroine to attain abnormally
 high Scores if she keeps performing combos of only one or two moves, which
 cost the least Energy and allow for more total moves. In the Floor Events,
 for the first and third parts, to maintain enough space, keep repeating
 the Salto Piked and the Backward Salto combo (Down, Down-Left), and
 for the second part, keep repeating the Pike Jump and the Handstand
 combo (Left, Up-Left). In the Performance Events, keep repeating
 the Pike Jump (Up), the Handstand (Left), the Turn (Down), or the
 Pirouette (Right). With sufficiently high Agility and Flexibility,
 more than 10000 points in the Floor Events and 7000 points in the
 Performance Events can be earned.
Close Girls
 In Practice Mode for the Uneven Bars Events, there is a glitch where the
 heroine's animations for the moves that begin with her facing the other
 way will have her appear up close to the camera for a very brief moment.
Erroneous Girls
 This game misspells "Stalder" as "Stadler" in every case.
 For the purposes of this document, the spelling is corrected.
Perfect Girls
 This game doesn't do a very good job of representing the challenges
 of gymnastics. The Vault Events are the only place where the heroine
 can stumble from imperfect landings, but even there she won't fall flat
 on her butt, no matter how badly the flower-like symbols are missed.
 In the rest of the game, the heroine never slips, and she always performs
 every move and landing perfectly.
Lonely Girls
 Due to technical reasons, the heroine is the only character who is actually
 rendered during gameplay, not counting the stands of "spectators" in the
 backgrounds. On the File Select Menu (the Locker Room), only one heroine
 is still rendered at a time. The single character model there is apparently
 shared by the three Files, going as far as carrying over any idling motions
 if the Files are being switched.
Intense Girls
 The game manages well enough with the heroine's character model and its
 limitations. The animations are quite smooth, despite her toes never bending
 independently from the rest of her feet. The heroine also never blinks.
Hardworking Girls
 Early in the game, Beverly tells the heroine that she can use her "winnings"
 to customize her equipment. A more appropriate term would be "earnings,"
 but does that really matter? Apparently, someone is paying her Tokens
 for practicing gymnastics, and nobody thinks that this is creepy.
Uniformed Girls
 In the Movies, the heroine and Beverly always appear in casual clothes,
 even when they are training or earning a medal. Would it hurt to see them
 in leotards? This is supposed to be a gymnastics game, right?
Dusty Girls
 In the Trampoline Minigame, whenever the heroine lands on the trampoline,
 a thick cloud of dust appears. If this isn't a funny issue with her feet,
 then what is up with that trampoline? Is it just really, really dusty?
 More oddly, this problem doesn't show up on the Logo Screen, so who knows?
Impatient Girls
 In the Trampoline Minigame, if another stroke is made quickly enough
 after the required sequence of strokes is correctly entered, there
 will be a miss, and the heroine won't perform a move, although the
 round will still be counted as passed.
Magic Girls
 Whenever the heroine performs moves, her hands and feet emit glowing hearts
 and lights. What is the reason for that? Does she have mystical powers?
 Does the heroine have a magical gem that is hidden deep within herself?
 Or perhaps this is just a game, and nothing has to make complete sense.
Playful Girls
 The Instruction Booklet says that the heroine can play the Minigames
 with Beverly. Too bad that isn't true, because enjoying them with her
 would have been a fantastic bonus.
Team Girls
 Having a Player-created heroine is nice, but having MultiPlayer support
 in addition to that would have been nicer. How about an option to play
 the Trampoline Minigame as a team? Or an option to take virtual photos
 as a group? The greatest thing in life is for best friends to share
 secrets, suits, and experiences, including performing exercises
 and resting together. Wouldn't that make for an even more immersive
 implementation of Player-created heroines?
Returning Girls
 The Gym Rockets are referenced relatively briefly in the 2010 follow-up,
 Imagine: Gymnast. (This game should not be confused with Gym Rockets'
 European version, which is also named Imagine: Gymnast. Go blame Ubisoft
 for this needlessly weird mess.) Only the team's name is mentioned, and
 Beverly, Tammy, and the other characters from Gym Rockets don't directly
 appear in Gymnast. That is a pity, because Beverly seems like someone
 who would get along splendidly with Helena, Tess, Beatrix, and Arianna.
 Seeing Tammy and Shannon interacting would have been interesting, too.
Krezzy Comparisons
 Just for fun, let's compare the heroine of Bandai's Aerobics Studio
 (Dance Aerobics) with the heroine of 1st Playable's Gym Rockets.
